  1. My book, The Famous Five: A Personal Anecdotage (www.sbisabirye.blogspot.com) is the first book that puts the influence of America on Enid Blyton and vice versa in its context. It also relates some instances in a couple of Blytonian books to some American situations. Let us hope that Helena Bonham Carter's win of the international Emmy (which is still predominantly American-dominated) for best actress for her portrayal of Enid Blyton in a BBC biopic would in both the short term and long-term be a stepping stone in making a cinematic movie on Enid Blyton (mind you the Emmys are part and parcel of tinsel town Hollywood) as well as several or many Enid Blyton books washing ashore the American coasts.
